Specification guide
A clearer brief.
A better connection.
Use this guide to prepare a tube fitting or instrumentation tubing enquiry for Om Tubes & Fittings Industries. Bring the product, material and service requirements together so our team can review the exact combination.
What is inside a twin-ferrule fitting?
The connection uses a body, a front ferrule, a back ferrule and a compression nut. The front ferrule forms the seal against the body and tube. The back ferrule grips the tube, while the nut drives the ferrules into position. Our interactive elbow fitting story lets you inspect these parts separately.
An elbow changes the connection direction through 90 degrees. The fitting illustration shows the elbow itself; the assembly model is a visual explanation, not an installation drawing. See the fitting component overview for more detail.
What should a fitting or tubing enquiry include?
- Product and connection: fitting type, end connections, thread form where applicable, and whether the dimensions are metric or imperial.
- Tube dimensions: outside diameter and wall thickness, plus required length or coil format.
- Material: grade and any specified material standard.
- Service: process fluid, operating pressure and temperature, and any relevant project conditions.
- Quantity and documents: quantities by item, drawings, inspection requirements and required delivery date.
For tubing options, compare the tubing series and outside diameter and wall size tables. Ask the team to confirm the appropriate combination for your application.
How do I specify a material grade?
Use the exact grade or designation required by your project. The materials page covers stainless steels, duplex and super duplex steels, nickel alloys and other material families. A family name such as “stainless steel” is less specific than the grade on a drawing or purchase specification.
If your material is undecided, describe the fluid and operating conditions in your enquiry. Our team will confirm the proposed grade and product specification in the quotation.
Which quality documents should I request?
State your required material test certificate, heat traceability and inspection requirements in the enquiry. The quality and certification page describes the documentation and inspections offered by Om Tubes. Request the relevant certificates for review with your quotation.
If third-party inspection or a project-specific test is required, include it before the order is confirmed. This allows the inspection scope and documentation to be included in the offer.
Can I send a BOM or an existing part number?
Yes. Use the BOM enquiry form to prepare a list of items, quantities and any existing part numbers. Cross-references are reviewed by the team; a suggested replacement should be checked against the exact application and specification.
The form opens your email application with the enquiry details. Attach your BOM or drawings there and send the draft. Files selected on the website stay on your device until you attach and send them.
